MO GAWDAT

former Chief business officer Google[x], best selling author, and a serial entrepreneur

Prior to serving as CBO of Google[x], the “moonshot factory”, Mo Gawdat was one of the leading drivers in Google’s global expansion, starting about half the offices of the company worldwide.

But when his 21-year-old son Ali, died during a routine surgical operation in 2014, Mo turned to the “happiness equation” they had developed together, to try to come to terms with his tragic loss and regain his happiness, despite the tragedy that life had sent his way.

His book, Solve for Happy, (2017 – translated in 28 languages) reveals his scientific and engineering approach to happiness and is the first step in Mo’s personal “moonshot project” to make One Billion People happy.

To that end, Mo Gawdat conducts “happiness at work” training, positively impacting the way businesses and people grow and evolve, for such global brands as Google, Citi, Morgan Stanley, UBS and many more.

MO ON HAPPINESS

“Happiness follows a predictable equation: it is not the events in our life that makes us unhappy, it is the way we think of them. The method I have developed over 10 years of personal research, lays out an engineering approach to reach a stage of near-uninterrupted happiness, regardless of the events in our lives. Including in the workplace.”
